Our History

The Health Funders Partnership of Orange County is a collaborative group of health funders working together to address some of the most challenging aspects of our fragmented health care system with the goal of having a direct and lasting impact on access to healthcare for vulnerable populations. In September 2004, the HFPOC convened the Safety Net Initiative, a grass-roots effort to organize and mobilize the community to improve access to care. When the Health Funders Partnership surveyed the safety net providers regarding the most pressing unmet needs, specialty care was listed as the top concern. Access OC was created to address this need.

Currently, more than 40 organizations continue to collectively engage in the mission of this work. For more information regarding the Health Funders Partnership of Orange County, go to www.hfpoc.org.
